About your host

You have found your way onto the website of my humble self, Thomas Jollans.

I'm an experimental physicist currently working as a PhD student in the Single-Molecule Optics group at Leiden University with Prof.dr. Michel Orrit. There, I study the properties of single optically heated gold nanoparticles, working to better understand boiling and vapour bubble formation at the nanoscale.

Previously, I studied at Mansfield College of the University of Oxford and completed an M.Phys. project with Prof. Achillefs Kapanidis. On occasion, I have been active in various corners of the GNU/Linux and open source community.
